How Do I Start a Reiki Business?

I believe that Reiki is my calling and want to turn this into a career. What’s my first step to get started in my state and get certified?

Blessings to your calling! The first thing I encourage you to do is to always check the regulations and requirements of your state and know that you always need to follow your state and local laws, but in most places, Reiki is not licensed and regulated in the way that some other services are. Often, depending upon your location, certification does not exist for Reiki in the way that it does for other modalities, like massage therapy. But again, always check your state and local laws. For instance, Reiki practitioners in Florida require massage licensing.

There is so much to say on this topic, and where you turn next really depends upon your vision for your practice. If you haven’t already, I encourage you to join the Reiki Business Collective, which focuses specifically on business, to start connecting with and getting to know Reiki business owners. Networking, whether online or in person, is an often-overlooked, yet important aspect of business ownership, including (especially?) a business like Reiki.
