Christian | Standing Stones Healing Co. Here are 10 ways to become more grateful, courtesy of Robert Emmons.
Do you do any of these? Christian | Standing Stones Healing Co. I’m new to Reiki as a client and working on meditation as often as I can, which isn't as often as I'd like. But how can I start meditation for my children? I have 3 boys, ages 8, 7, and 5. I would like to teach them how to become grounded.
Will meditation music at bed time be enough to change vibrations and allow this flow? What else can I do? Christian | Standing Stones Healing Co. I volunteer with an organization that provides transitional housing for homeless families with children. Can I use Reiki to cleanse the energy in the space when we are preparing for new families to move in? Has anyone done this and, if so, can you share your method(s) and experience(s), please? Also, if I can cleanse/clear with Reiki do I also need to sage separately or should I use them in tandem?
Christian | Standing Stones Healing Co. Space clearing is a powerful practice for changing the energy of our physical spaces. Whether homes, offices, or businesses, we can use space clearing anytime we want to remove stagnant energy, bring in new energy, create or mark changes in our lives, or simply freshen up our space. This powerful process will have your home (or office) feeling like new!
Christian | Standing Stones Healing Co. Let’s face it: our lives are often a blur. We run from activity to activity, rush to work, rush home, rush the kids to soccer practice. We cook dinner, clean up, crash on the couch, and get up the next morning to do it all again. How do we break out of this rat race and create stillness amidst the chaos? We cultivate small moments of mindfulness. Stillness does not need to be an extended break to help us recharge and reset. Here are three recommendations from my own life for creating stillness within your busy schedule: Christian | Standing Stones Healing Co. We hear frequently that we need to “find stillness,” but stillness is not something that we need to search for like a hidden treasure. Rather, stillness is all around us, and rather than “find” it, we only need to slow down to allow it to catch up to us. Christian | Standing Stones Healing Co. I am a fervent journaler. I started journaling 20 years ago when I was a college senior nervous about what was next in my life. I felt compelled to write about those uncertainties in order to gain a better understanding of my experience and to help ease my fears. It worked. Writing my thoughts down on paper felt like talking through those fears with a friend. And it worked so well that I’ve been journaling ever since. Christian | Standing Stones Healing Co. Walking is well known for its physical, emotional, and mental benefits, but it provides important spiritual benefits, as well. For thousands of years, various cultures have used walking in ritual, shamanic practicing, spiritual journeying, and pilgrimages. It’s a well-worn path to spiritual awakening, and practically all spiritual traditions have used walking as a way to deepen connection to the divine. Walking is embedded in our bones, and we can turn it into a simple spiritual act that deepens our spirituality. Below are 5 tips for walking your way to deeper spirituality. Christian | Standing Stones Healing Co. Nearly every Sunday evening for the past 18 years, I drop everything at 8:00 and listen to a Celtic music radio show while drinking tea and writing in my journal. This is a special time that I look forward to each week, and even though for the past several years I listen to the show as a podcast and can therefore listen anytime I want, I have stuck to my Sunday evening time slot because I have established it as a sacred time. I ritualized the experience by having a prescribed set of actions at a customary time, and I elevated that day and time. For me, Sunday evening is a special time that is different from ordinary time, and I watch the clock and know where I will be at 8:00. Christian | Standing Stones Healing Co. It might be surprising, but scrubbing your house can be a soul scrubbing experience. When done with intention, cleaning can be a meditative and ritualistic act that fills us with awareness, meaning, and connection and deepens our spirituality.
Christian | Standing Stones Healing Co. Nature as an element of spirituality is ageless and global, and across all cultures and during all times, nature has been a focal point of spirituality. But in our modern society, we increasingly spend our time indoors in self-imposed cages without even opening a window. We too frequently lock ourselves away from enjoying the gifts of nature. Indeed, we ignore it, fear it, and disrespect it without fully acknowledging its necessity to our existence. Christian | Standing Stones Healing Co. Gratitude is underrated. As the foundation of a spiritual existence, it too often does not receive the recognition it deserves. The simple act of saying “thank you” has more power than we realize. It has the power to make us aware of our blessings, connect us to others, and to help us create meaning out of our experiences. This power is largely untapped, though, particularly because we rarely practice the kind of radical gratitude that can have life-changing effects. |
