Christian | Standing Stones Healing Co. Is it common to have people who have passed make their presence known to the practitioner? In my session, the practitioner said deceased family members were there. I will say whatever she did released some chronic pain I’ve had for years. I had previously tried many other things - medication, therapy, acupuncture, massage therapy, etc. I’ve now been pain free for two weeks. I’m open to whatever happened but also don’t want to be taken advantage of since I’d give just about anything to reconnect with my loved ones who have passed on. I send you blessings over the loss of your loved ones. And yes, it is common for some Reiki practitioners to see or receive messages from loved ones who have passed over. Not all practitioners do, but many do.
To me, at the center of your question is concern about whether or not you were taken advantage of. Based on the information you provided, I can't say for absolute sure of course, but it sounds to me like you were not. Often it's good practice to ask a client if they are open to receiving information and messages the practitioner has received. It's important for practitioners who receive messages during a session and share them to make sure clients understand that this might happen and to receive their permission to share. But it's common for practitioners to receive information while sending Reiki, including even from loved ones who have passed over. Please know, though, that this is not the case for all Reiki practitioners, and practitioners who receive or share information are not any better practitioners than those who do not. Reiki practitioners may receive information, such as images, messages, or sensations while sending Reiki, but there is a wide range among practitioners in what information they might receive or choose to share. Receiving messages from deceased loved ones is actually not part of the system of Reiki, so please know that if you go to another practitioner who does not share messages from deceased loved ones or other intuitive information, the session is still valid and Reiki is still working. I do often receive information during my sessions, but I personally do not typically receive messages from deceased loved ones, and the kind or amount of intuitive information I might receive varies from session to session. Either way, it's important for both practitioner and client to release the expectation of information in a Reiki session. Please feel free to read this article on Client Feedback for more thoughts. So not only do I not think you were taken advantage of, it also sounds to me like Reiki works for you to have such drastic relief from chronic pain with one session is wonderful! Everyone has different experiences with Reiki, and sometimes it takes multiple sessions to see improvement, especially depending upon the root of the pain, but it sounds like that pain was ready to move. Wonderful!!! You may very well want to consider Reiki again, since you've tried other modalities with no relief and Reiki has really helped after one session. You may also want to get the free Reiki Kit full of Reiki information. Please feel free to ask any other questions, but I am excited for you and the improvement you've experienced after one session. Sending blessings! Comments are closed.
