Can I Be Successful at Reiki?

I’ve had Reiki done on me before just a few times. Otherwise I’m a newcomer. But there’s been an energy in the palms of my hands since way back in 1980’s/related to college sculpting classes. Recently while talking with a friend about chakras, she suggested I may have some natural Reiki energy or something to explore - it seems it’s most powerfully felt in connection to art making activities. I’m nervous I couldn’t be successful at healing, but curious and open to finding a place for attunements.

Thank you for this great post, and you're in the right place in the Reiki Learning Group! It's normal to be unsure if Reiki is right for you or even if we can be "good" at it. I put the "good" in quotes because, once you're attuned to Reiki, there is nothing you have to do...it just flows from you. And yes, you can already have the energy flowing through you...we actually all do. Training and attunements open you up to greater levels of the energy and help you understand how to send it effectively. And there is no reason why you can't be a successful Reiki practitioner. I am fully confident in your ability to!

As far as attunements and training, the most important thing is to go with what resonates with and feels right to you. There are lots of teachers out there, myself included. Please feel free to learn more about how I teach Reiki 1 here. Not all teachers and ways of teaching will resonate with or be the right fit for you, so it's important to determine what you want out of a training...whether in person or online, videos or live meetings, lots of support or none, etc.
