Christian Stone | Standing Stones Healing Co. Do you have a blog on your Reiki business website? I know what you're thinking... Blogs are so 2003! Does anyone even write blogs anymore? Who does that?! But stick with me because not only are you right now on a blog, but a lot of what we find when we do a search for information and seek an answer to a question is blog articles. Whether on personal websites or company websites, we might not realize it, but a lot of the results are blog articles, and this can be a great way to bring people to your Reiki business website. At least it has been for me. It might work for you, too. When we're searching online for information, what often comes up in the search results are simply blogs. We don't often realize it, but much of the information we might find online comes in the form of company or personal blogs. These blogs are being used to inform and educate and to bring people to the company or personal website. We too, in our Reiki business, can use website articles and blogs to inform people, to educate them, to provide them with helpful information, and also to bring them to our Reiki business website. We can take this same kind of approach on our Reiki business website to provide information, to educate, and through the education, to introduce people to our Reiki business, to our services, our products, who we are, what we do, and how we can help them. For instance, perhaps in your Reiki business you really like to help people who experience anxiety, and you want to help clients with anxiety relief. On your website, you could have articles that talk about anxiety relief and talk about Reiki for anxiety relief. Maybe someone then searches, "How do I relieve my anxiety?" or "How to get anxiety relief?" or even "Reiki and anxiety." Your blog article may very well show up in those search results. Even though someone might read your article and not book an appointment right away, they're still learning about how to relieve their anxiety, including with Reiki, which is just simply beneficial and helpful to them. If you've done nothing else through that article, you have helped them. And I don't know about you, but that's what I'm here for. That's why I have a Reiki business—to help people. My guess is that you do too. Sharing information that helps people is simply a beautiful part of our Reiki business, and it's also a way to bring people to your website to help them learn about you and your Reiki business and how you can help them. Ultimately, in our Reiki business, if we have a website, we want people to visit it because, for most of us, our website is where clients and potential clients can book a session with us, register for a class, or purchase a product. So bringing people to our website is a big help to our business. Here are a few tips for your Reiki business blog: 1. Offer information, education, and assistance. The best blog articles aren't all about you and your Reiki business...they answer questions, offer education, and provide support. Yes, it can be great to include your own experiences, but when people search for something, like how Reiki can help with anxiety, they're not looking for the whole story of your Reiki journey. They're looking for relief. Yes, your helpful and informational article can include personal experiences that help illustrate the information, but your stories should take a back seat to their needs. 2. Writing short articles is ok! If you're intimidated by the thought of writing long articles, don't be! We often think that blog articles need to be long and detailed. But your Reiki business blog articles don't have to be long. Short can sometimes be more effective than long. Many of my blog articles are quite short and to the point. 3. Longevity is helpful. Search engines favor longevity. Websites that have been around longer are rated as more credible than newer ones. This goes for each of your articles, too. Plus, the longer they exist, the more views they can get, which increases their search rating. So the sooner you start posting articles, the better. 4. Share your articles. As someone with a treasure trove of content, I can tell you that it's awesome to be able to provide the answer to someone's question with an article from my website. Maybe that's how you got here. And I don't know about you, but I'm here to help, and being able to help with more information in an article is an awesome way to be of service...and to bring them to my website where they can find more articles that might offer more help and support. Yes, there are plenty more articles here! Please feel free to check them out.
