Christian | Standing Stones Healing I am all over the place and never know what I want to do next with my life or my Reiki business. I thought about selling crystals, Reiki for hospice, and even other trainings like hypnosis or past lives. What should I look for when researching training? I’m seeing so many courses and prices. Why don’t I ever feel settled? Thanks for this, and congratulations, you are totally normal!!! This kind of uncertainty is completely common, and not just with Reiki business. I spent 9+ years specifically as a career coach, and the number of times I've had this conversation is staggering.
Here's the real deal truth: all of those questions about what's your purpose or find your passion or sit quiet and let it come to you are actually kinda unhelpful. (Sorry, it's true.) Our interests and desires reveal themselves by doing, by being actively engaged and trying new things. But here's the catch...when it comes to our Reiki business, so often we are jumping into new things because we feel like what we already have isn't good enough. We feel like Reiki by itself isn't good enough or we aren't a good enough practitioner or no one will want to buy from us if we don't have a bunch of letters after our name or a bunch of skills. This is simply not true. I am definitely an advocate for learning and growing and expanding our skill set. But so often we do this from a place of lack, a place of not feeling good enough, rather than a place of true interest. My honest encouragement for you right now is to stop searching and go with what you got. Search your own current skills and start applying them. Taking action leads to clarity. Taking action leads to awareness of more action to take. Before you plunk down time, money, and effort on a training that might not really interest you (especially an expensive one!), expand the skills you have. You might even find that you don't want a bunch of letters after your name, after all. You might yet, but you'll have more awareness and clarity along with it. Please feel free to reach out with any questions, but sometimes when we feel lost, it's because we're looking at all of the trees in the forest and trying to decide which one to climb to get a better view when really the view we got is pretty awesome already if we just open our eyes and move forward. Sending blessings to moving forward! Comments are closed.
