Christian Stone | Standing Stones Healing Co. I have been doing my business as an intuitive Reiki master, sound healer, yoga instructor, Tarot and oracle reader for 5 years mostly as a hobby and because I like to help people. Over the past few months things changed drastically and my husband retired which resulted in an decrease of steady income coming in, and now I feel pressure to generate income. I’m looking for any job to bring in steady income with no luck so far while at the same time I’m struggling promoting my own business. Should I get a job or focus on making my business work? Thank you for sharing your experience, and you're definitely not alone. This challenge with a lack of income as we start our business and the question of whether to get a job while we build it is common for many new spiritual business owners. I do want to encourage you that it does and can take time to build a business, even one that's aligned with our higher purpose and light and love and etc.
Sometimes we believe or are led to believe that if we simply follow our purpose, align all of our chakras, meditate enough, and practice enough gratitude, that we'll be flooded with clients. And when that doesn't happen, we believe we must not be in spiritual alignment. This is not true, and while spiritual alignment is of course important (whether we have a spiritual business or not), building a business does take skill and effort. In the meantime, it's very helpful to have income while we're building. It doesn't mean you're any less devoted to your business or helping people or that it's any less "your purpose." It simply means that it takes time. Some people who want to sell you a program will make it seem like all you have to do is take their program and in 6 weeks (or however long it is), you'll be earning 6 figures. Not true. Yes, I do have a business program, Build Your Reiki Business, and it includes lifetime access for this exact reason...it takes time to build. I also right away in the beginning of the training videos encourage not quitting your job just yet. We want to build our Reiki business from a place of expansion and not desperation. Because of your need for income right away, I do encourage finding a job that allows you to build your business while meeting your financial needs. Having a job and building a business are not mutually exclusive, and you can do both at the same time. I started my Reiki business while I was working full-time, and while I've been operating my business full-time as my sole source of income for a number of years, I have also had part-time jobs while running my business. Plenty of Reiki business owners have both their business and a part-time or full-time job, and they are helping others no less just because their business isn't their sole source of income. Part-time Reiki and spiritual businesses are needed just as much as full-time ones and that work is no less important. Feel free to reach out anytime and make sure to grab the free Reiki Biz Kit full of Reiki business information and encouragement. Sending blessings to the building! Comments are closed.
