Christian | Standing Stones Healing Co. The art of revision is an essential Reiki business skill. If you don't have it, your Reiki business will not last. What is it, and do you have it? In the world of business, things don't always go as planned. Actually, they rarely do. Business is full of the unexpected and Reiki business is no different. Revision in our Reiki business is about being prepared for things not going as planned and being ready to troubleshoot, think critically, and revise our strategies. The term "revision" comes from my background as a writing teacher. In writing, revision is a fundamental step in the process. In writing it's about being willing to make changes, go in a different direction, or start over. This happens in life, too. And even in Reiki business, where unexpected challenges happen every day. For example, I've faced numerous challenges with Facebook Live sessions due to technological issues. These moments of unexpected problems are frustrating, but they also provide an opportunity to revise and find alternative solutions. Critical thinking is a vital skill in our Reiki business. It allows us to assess situations and make informed decisions when revision is necessary. We can't anticipate every possible scenario, but we can develop a mindset that says, "I can handle it" when unexpected challenges arise. In those revisionary moments, we have choices. We can get angry, let challenges stop us, or lash out at others. However, it's more productive to respond constructively by finding a solution and moving forward. These revisionary moments happen to everyone in their Reiki business journey. It's not a matter of if we will have to revise, but when. Learning to adapt and revise is crucial for the long-term success of your Reiki business. As we face challenges and need to pivot, we draw upon our experiences and problem-solving skills. Over time, we become better at handling revisionary moments and discover that we can handle anything that comes our way. Ultimately, there's a point in your Reiki business journey where you realize you can figure out any problem and handle any situation. It's a matter of staying resilient and adaptable, no matter how unexpected the circumstances. Before starting a Reiki business, I encourage reflecting on how you handle challenges in your personal life. Your ability to adapt and revise outside of your business can be a good indicator of how you'll respond to similar situations in your Reiki business. The more you cultivate this skill, the better equipped you'll be to thrive in your Reiki business, no matter what unexpected twists and turns come your way.
