Is Social Media Necessary for Reiki Business?

My biggest struggle in my Reiki business is building my client base and keeping it consistent for my in-person business. My current weakness is social media. I don't post a lot pertaining to my business. Is social media necessary? 

Social media isn't something you have to do for your business. It's helpful for sure, but it isn't required and we can use it as much or as little as it suits our own personal preferences, the needs of our business, and our clients' preferences. So yes, it's ok if you don't use social media and yes, you can have a thriving in-person practice without it.

But social media can be very helpful for reminding people that you can help them with Reiki. Even if someone has had a great session with you and would like to come back, it's so easy to forget about it with everything we have going on. So social media is great for helping people to remember you and for you to keep in touch with clients and potential clients.

There's a lot to say about social media, but one of the great things about it is that it's free. It's free to create a Facebook business page or a YouTube channel or Instagram account. It doesn't cost a penny to post, so in that way it's free advertising. It can take a lot of work and effort, but absolutely you can use it as much or as little as you want.

If you're not currently using social media at all for your Reiki business, you may want to give it a try and see how it feels. The most important thing about gaining traction on social media for your Reiki business is being consistent. Please don't expect to post a couple of times and "go viral." It takes time to be noticed and to see any return on your investment in social media. I recommend starting with one platform, your favorite, posting about your business, and inviting your clients to follow you. Simply starting in small ways is a great way to start anything. You can have a thriving Reiki business without social media...even an online Reiki business, but using it can definitely be helpful for your Reiki business.
