Christian Stone Is selling help with starting a Reiki business a scam? Like in the California Gold rush days where it wasn't the miners who became rich panning for gold, it was the people selling shovels to the people trying to get rich. That's how I feel about things related to showing people how they can build Reiki businesses. Who's actually benefitting from your books, programs, and conferences? Is it really the little town Reiki practitioner who desperately needs to make money with a Reiki practice? If you were giving the information for free, then I wouldn't have a qualm. One of the most classic business scams is the "self-help" and "secrets of success" where the trick to making money is to "come to my seminar" or "buy my book" so you can know my secrets, too. I'm not accusing you of being selfish or unethical, but there are no business secrets that guarantee success except luck, hard work, and having a product that everyone wants. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, and I appreciate you bringing up your concerns. You're right that there are a lot of "false prophets" in the self-help industry. I have read more than 1,000 "self-help" books and can say for a fact that many of these authors unethically and inauthentically repeat the same stories as though they are their own. Like, who really originally ate potato chips out of someone else's bag at an airport? Because numerous self-help authors claim this story as their own.
For sure there are people practicing unethically and inauthentically in every industry, Reiki included. This is true not just of offering assistance with starting and growing a Reiki business, but with Reiki itself. There are unfortunately many instances of Reiki practitioners telling clients they have the "secrets" to healing, that they can cure them, that if they come in for multiple sessions, their problem can be resolved. So you wonder if Reiki business help is a scam, but many more people are asking, "Is Reiki a scam?" As a Reiki practitioner yourself, you of course would say no, but there are scammers in every industry. So while Reiki itself is not a scam, there are indeed Reiki scammers. However, I know that when I started my Reiki business, I had a lot of questions, a lot of confusion, and I needed help that just wasn't available. It's not easy to start and grow a Reiki business, even if we have good luck, work hard, and have a product people want. I'm very lucky, I have always been a hard worker, and Reiki is definitely in demand, but I can say for a fact that there's a lot more to building a Reiki business than these three things. You're right that there are no magic secrets, but definitely there's a lot to be learned. I'm here to share my experience, knowledge, and mistakes to help other Reiki practitioners so that we can spread Reiki and help the world to have more kindness, compassion, growth, and healing. The more successful Reiki businesses we have, the better the world will be...or at least I think so. And so, even while there are a lot of self-help scams, the self-help genre has done a lot of good, too. Just like there will always be Reiki scams, but let's work together to make sure our industry stays as legit as possible. Please also keep in mind that, while I do sell Reiki business products like books, summits, and courses to help practitioners, I also offer a lot of resources for free.
