I'm Not Enjoying My Reiki Business

I started my business 6 months ago. I've gone to a couple events and had a few clients, but I'm worried because I'm not enjoying it at all. I thought I would love it but I'm hating it. Even giving the Reiki, not just the business aspect. I want to quit but I feel like I've spent so much time and money getting started that it would be wasted. I guess I just need to know if you've heard of anyone else experiencing this and what your advice might be. Thank you.

Thanks so much for admitting this, which can't be easy. It reminds me of a friend I had many years ago whose dream was to build a house deep in the woods and live like Little House on the Prairie. She did it...she and her husband bought land in rural Maine, built a log cabin, and moved in with their baby and dog. They had lots of land, lots of privacy, no electricity. It was her dream. And she hated it. After a few months, she was not enjoying herself. Here she had her dream life that she'd wanted for years and worked toward and she told me she was not enjoying it like she thought she would.
This is actually empowering. This is a wonderful thing to know. Here you have gone for your dream. You have done something that so many people and Reiki practitioners dream of. You started your own Reiki business! Well done!
And what's just as incredible is that you can move forward with your life with full knowledge and no regrets. You achieved this big, awesome thing that you really wanted only to find that it wasn't what you thought. This is not a bad thing at all. It means that now you can leave behind something that isn't right for you. You can move forward with a been there, done that perspective knowing that, at least right now on your journey, it isn't a good fit. That's empowering. You have learned in only a few months what others might take years to realize. Well done. There is no shame in not liking having a Reiki business.
No doubt others will try to convince you to keep at it. But that's about them and not you. Honor your own inner knowing. Stand in your truth in this. Always on our journey we will try things that don't fit us like we thought they would and aren't what we wanted. Like a log cabin in the woods, sometimes it's not what we expected or wanted after all. It's ok to release your dream back out into the world.
I also want to encourage you that nothing is ever wasted. Especially when we're business owners, we learn so much and grow in so many ways, and all of that continues with us on the journey. You haven't wasted or lost anything. It's all within you.
