Thanks for this great question. When looking at websites, there two things most people need: a domain and a web host/builder. Sometimes these are one in the same. For instance, you can purchase your domain (.com) through Wix, Weebly, Squarespace, etc., who will host it and also offer a web builder. Purchasing a .com is like buying a plot of land. The web builder is how you build your site and serves as the house. So you can purchase these separately or through the same company. Often, purchasing them together through a web host/builder will cost you more, as a Wix or a Weebly will charge you around $25 per year for your .com, while a domain host will charge about $10 per year. That's just for the domain. You'll also have to purchase web hosting/building, which is what companies like Wix and Weebly really provide. They sell the domain along with the web hosting. You can purchase the domain separately, though, and still use a Wix or a Weebly by pointing your site to those web builders from a separate domain host.

This is more than you want to know, though. You just want to know how to do it for free! You can build a site for free on a Wix or Weebly (out of those two, Wix has a far superior web builder with all kinds of flexibility) or Squarespace or wherever, but know that it won't be your own .com. It will be www.the name you want here.weeblysite.com or something like that. What's great is that it's free. What's not so great is that there are often ads on them that are unprofessional. Don't use wordpresssite for this reason! Facebook will even block it it's that bad.

But this is a good way to start if you're wanting to get a site going without money. You can always upgrade later to a paid site with a .com...or purchase the .com separately and point it to your site. 

Another option is to sign up for an e-mail newsletter provider, like Mailchimp, MailerLite, or ConvertKit. These companies offer free options that allow you to create what's called a "landing page" that you can customize like a single-page website...or even create multiple landing pages that you link to from your main landing page, like a website would. The links for landing pages are not pretty, but you can create a customized Bitly link (also a free service) from your main landing page link. This isn't the most professional way to have a website for your Reiki business, but it's free and definitely a start!
