How to Create Reiki Community
Community is an essential human need. But it's also helpful for our Reiki business.
Creating community is a service that helps like-minded people connect, give and get support, and make friends.
Whether in the Reiki Learning Group, Reiki Business Collective, or at the Reiki Business Summit, when we gather in community, amazing things happen.
But how do we create community?
Here are the first three steps for starting impactful communities...
1. Identify members
The first step in creating community is to identify who we want to surround ourselves with. Who is the community for? This does not need to be our "ideal client," but it can be and often is. When we know what we're looking for, it's easier to find it, and when we know who we want to be in community with, it's easier to know where to look for them to invite them in.
2. Choose the format
Once we know who we want in our community, we need to choose the format for the community. This is how, when, and where the community will gather. The possibilities for the format are endless, whether online or in-person. But how the community meets needs to fit the community. For instance, if you want to connect with school teachers, meeting on a weekday at 10:00 AM is not a good idea.
3. Set the tone
As Reiki practitioners, we know how important energy is. Each community has its own vibe, and it's up to the leader to define and foster how the group feels when people join. The energy you put out will set the tone for the group, so bring the kind of energy you want the group to have. If you want a community where members share cookies at your gatherings, then bring cookies.
