Can Reiki Get Rid of Ghosts?

Reiki is awesome for all kinds of things. We use it for relaxation, pain relief, sleep, and emotional healing. But sometimes we might wonder if Reiki can do other things that don't immediately come to mind. Sometimes practitioners wonder...

Can it help get rid of ghosts and entities?

Maybe...but maybe not in the way we might think.

Reiki can help with all kinds of things, including ghost busting. But the way it helps the most is by improving the circumstances wherein entities might be easier to pick up. Ghosts, entities, attachments, and negative energy are attracted to negative energy. Of course, we know that like attracts like: anger fosters more anger, yelling at someone makes them want to respond with yelling, and negative energy breeds negative energy.


Reiki's greatest use in "removing" ghosts is really in helping us to raise our own vibration so that like attracts like in our own lives.


Reiki, as a system that helps us to cultivate and arrive at a place of mindfulness, presence, and living in the present moment, can indeed help us to create a mental, emotional, and physical space in which it's less likely to attract negative energy, whether in the form of ghosts, entities, or people yelling back at us...because Reiki helps us to not yell or foster negative energy in the first place. Fear, anger, worry, stress, and negativity are very future-focused feelings, and Reiki helps ground us in the present moment, whether in the practice of the system of Reiki or Reiki the energy.


When it comes to entity removal and clearings, I think it's most important to change the circumstances that facilitated the attachment.


What I mean is that we need to examine the situation, space, home, person that is being impacted by ghosts or entities and ask what the environment or mindset is like and if it needs a higher vibe. Changing the environment, mindset, habits, and lifestyle is very helpful for creating a space where it's less likely that ghosts, entites, and attachments will hang out.


Some say Reiki (the energy) isn't powerful enough for extractions.

It's the energy of all things, so I disagree. But the purpose of the system of Reiki isn't extraction, so I think the issue is more with the purpose of the practice. The system's central purpose is mindfulness, letting go, and acceptance. Entities thrive on the opposite: anxiety, fear, worry, etc. So when we focus on the root cause of the attachment, Reiki can help with extractions and clearings. Why not? It can help with anything.


This doesn't ever mean we should have a session for a specific intention or purpose that we're uncomfortable with, though, and it's always ok for us to decline when we feel uncomfortable.


So if we have a client who asks us to use Reiki to help them get rid of ghosts, entities, attachments, or anything else we feel uncomfortable with, it's ok to say no. It's also important to note that Reiki is often not a one-time solution and that raising the vibe can take time, including through all of the client's own personal practices. We can help a client feel better, get relaxed, and raise their vibe during a session, but what happens after the session and the client's own personal practices are out of our control. That means that Reiki can help, but it's up to the client to do the work of actively raising their vibration, changing the space/environment, and reconsidering lifestyle choices that may have contributed to the attachment.


There are other practices that focus specifically on these purposes of ghost and entity clearings, including shamanic practices. If you have a lot of interest in extractions, I recommend considering shamanic training. But yes, Reiki can definitely help and it certainly won't hurt.
